Boise State football recruiting 2013: National Signing Day recap

The Broncos have been a consistent recruiting team in recent years.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Boise State Broncos are a perennial top-25 program on the field, but that isn’t the case in recruiting. That’s a testament to Chris Petersen and his staff, as they continuously field nationally competitive teams without the blue chip recruits that many of their BCS counterparts add each year.

For more on this check out, One Bronco Nation Under God.

The 2013 class isn’t much different than previous year in terms national rankings, as the Broncos check in at No. 56 in the composite listing at 247 Sports. A year ago, the Broncos’ class ranked No. 59, and the 2011 class checked in at No. 52 nationally, so they have been reasonably consistent.

SB Nation's National Signing Day Headquarters

Linebackers Gabe Perez, Tanner Vallejo and Durrant Miles are the top recruits for Boise State this year. All are three-star recruits who stand at least 6 feet tall.

The Broncos also added some quality pieces on offense, signing three-star running back Aaron Baltazar and three-star wide receiver Kendal Keys.

Top three players: Gabe Perez (Linebacker), Tanner Vallejo (Linebacker), Durrant Miles (Linebacker)

Top three rival classes: Fresno State, Hawaii, Colorado State

Biggest National Signing Day drama: Boise State had to wait until National Signing Day to get official word from Gabe Perez on his commitment.
