Michigan’s Denard Robinson beat Texas A&M’s Ryan Swope in the fan vote to decide who will be on the cover of EA Sports’ NCAA Football 14, it was announced Tuesday morning. From EA:

Texas A&M lost an internet vote, believe it or not!
“I want to say thank you to all the fans at Michigan for getting behind me,” said Robinson, the NCAA’s all-time leader in rushing yards by a quarterback. “Michigan has one of the best fan bases.”
With the victory, Robinson becomes the third Michigan Wolverine to appear on the cover of an NCAA Football title after former Heisman Trophy Winners Desmond Howard (NCAA Football 99) and Charles Woodson (NCAA Football 2006).
“It’s an honor to go to Michigan, and for us to be on the cover of NCAA Football.”
The voting process was also marred by controversy, not surprisingly, as fans tried to boost their favorite player’s chances with fraudulent votes. EA conducted the vote on Facebook, which prompted folks to create fake accounts in order to pad voting totals. EA was forced to address the issue and did what it could to restore integrity to the contest.
Denard Robinson led the Wolverines with 1,266 yards rushing in 2012 and averaged a career-high 7.2 yards per carry. It was the third consecutive season in which Robinson ran for more than 1,000 yards. No FBS quarterback has more career rushing yards.
Ryan Swope had a record-setting career of his own. He is the Aggies' all-time leader in receptions, and he's had at least 800 yards receiving in each of the last three seasons. As a junior in 2011, he set single-season school records for receptions (89) and receiving yards (1,207). He finished second on the team in receiving yardage last season.
