Jordan Webb injury: ACL tear ends Colorado QB’s season

The Buffaloes’ signal-caller went down in a non-contact drill, tearing his ACL.

Bad luck hit the Colorado Buffaloes on Tuesday, as quarterback Jordan Webb tore his ACL in practice. Webb went down in a non-contact drill and will miss the 2013 season with the injury, according to a release from the school.

Webb led the Buffs to their only win in 2012, a 35-34 victory over Washington State. He threw for 354 yards and two touchdowns in that game and also rushed for a touchdown. He passed for 1,434 yards, eight touchdowns and eight interceptions on the season.

The injury puts the Buffs in an even worse position under first year head coach Mike MacIntyre. Webb was competing for the 2013 starting job before going down. He will reportedly pursue a sixth season of eligibility, as he redshirted in 2009 while at Kansas. Webb joined Colorado prior to the 2012 season as a graduate student after graduating from KU.
