Oklahoma State has reportedly cut down the list of schools quarterback Wes Lunt can transfer to.

The school has restricted Lunt from transferring to any school in the SEC, Pac-12 or Big 12, per Zack Kerker, sports director at 1450 AM in Illinois. Lunt also won’t be allowed to transfer to Southern Mississippi, where his former offensive coordinator Todd Monken is now the head coach, per Jeremy Fowler of CBS Sports. Central Michigan, a future opponent of Oklahoma State, is also reportedly on the blocked list, according to Jimmie Tramel of the Tulsa World. That’s 37 schools.
Lunt is reportedly interested in Tennessee, Louisville, Illinois, Vanderbilt and Southern Mississippi, according to reports from Joe Schad. With Lunt’s list cut down, Illinois could still be the front runner, which Schad reported Thursday.
The specific reasons for the schools on the blocked list are between Cowboys head coach Mike Gundy and Lunt. The sophomore quarterback decided to transfer after competing for the team’s starting job throughout spring football. Lunt’s freshman season was filled with injuries and mediocre performance, as he threw six touchdowns to seven interceptions.
Gundy and his staff appear willing and able to make Lunt’s transfer as inconvenient as possible.
