The North Carolina Tar Heels and South Carolina Gamecocks seem to be ready to set up a second matchup in three seasons in 2015. According to the Charlotte Observer blog, North Carolina and South Carolina are planning to open their 2015 season in a neutral site game in Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, home to the Carolina Panthers. The game is reportedly scheduled to be played on Sept. 5.
North Carolina and South Carolina will also start their 2013 seasons playing each other. It is the first scheduled game of the FBS regular season and will be played in Columbia on Thursday, Aug. 29 at 6 p.m. ET on ESPN. South Carolina is currently 14.5 point favorites over its northern neighbor according to the early lines.

North and South Carolina last played each other in 2007, with the Gamecocks winning on Tar Heel turf by a final score of 21-15. The teams have not battled regularly since 1971, playing only 11 times since South Carolina departed the ACC.
