NCAA Football 14 demo to feature 3 big-name matchups

Alabama’s season opener, Ohio State-Michigan, and a dream matchup between Oregon and Texas A&M are the three games available in the NCAA Football 14 demo, which will be released Tuesday.

EA Sports will release the Playstation 3 and XBox 360 demo of NCAA Football 14 June 18. The demo will feature three different matchups in playable games with three-minute quarters, per Owen Good of Kotaku. They include two of the more anticipated games in college football this year and one that we sort of wish would happen.

Here are the six teams you can play as:

Alabama vs. Virginia Tech (Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game): A new feature of NCAA Football this year is neutral-site games, including the season opener between the defending champs and the Hokies at the Georgia Dome. Although Virginia Tech is typically a contender in the ACC’s Coastal Division -- either the Hokies or Georgia Tech has made it to the conference’s championship game every season -- it likely won’t be much competition for the Tide ... especially not in a game in which Alabama is pretty much perfect.

Ohio State at Michigan: “The Game” should be a good one this year. The Buckeyes sealed a perfect season in 2012 by holding the Wolverines scoreless in the second half of a grinding 26-21 win. Ohio State’s schedule isn’t the most difficult ever assembled, meaning the Buckeyes could be 11-0 again this year heading into the rivalry matchup, but this time, it’s in the Big House.

Oregon at Texas A&M: If Oregon hadn't lost in overtime to Stanford last season and Texas A&M ran through the Big 12 instead of being a two-loss SEC team, this could've been last year's national championship game. More importantly, since both former Oregon commit Johnny Manziel and De'Anthony Thomas return, is this a preview of this year's national championship? This matchup isn't currently slated to be played out this season, but football fans will get to see how it plays out in the demo just in case the two teams meet during bowl season.

Here’s a look at this year’s gameplay:
