Conference media days tend to be tame affairs by design -- nobody is interested in revealing much about their teams, and anyhow fall camp hasn’t even started. We hear plenty about how everybody’s been working hard, that there are a lot of great players and coaches in this league and so forth.
KSU’s Tre Walker fires a shot at Texas during Big 12 Media Days
Kansas State’s Tre Walker wasn’t shy about offering his opinion of Texas, and it was less than kind.
There are always exceptions, though, and on Monday, Kansas State linebacker Tre Walker became one of them.
KSU's Tre Walker on Texas: "They kind of laid down a little bit. That's nothing to say about their character. That's just what they do."

I’m going to guess that providing bulletin board material is generally a frowned upon practice within coaching circles, but I for one appreciate Walker’s attempt to spice up July.
Walker does have some room to talk given that he’s never lost to Texas as a player at K-State, and the Wildcats are coming off a 42-24 win over the Longhorns last season, their fifth victory over Texas in a row. Texas actually led in the game late in the third quarter before a run of four straight KSU touchdowns removed all doubt about the outcome.
Texas players will speak with the media on Tuesday and no doubt will be given the opportunity to offer a response. The Longhorns and Kansas State meet on Sept. 21 in Austin this season.
