College football coaches sure do have opinions on the hurry-up offense. Nick Saban, Bret Bielema and Will Muschamp think it stinks and is dangerous. Coaches who use up-tempo offenses like Dana Holgorsen and Mike Leach think that’s a bunch of nonsense.

Alright, we get it. Coaches that run up-tempo spreads like the offense and don’t see what the issue is, and coaches that don’t run up-tempo offenses think it’s dangerous.
Until someone produces a peer-reviewed study that conclusively shows that the hurry-up offense is more dangerous than its “traditional” counterpart, let’s all just relax and talk about things that have been proven. Like how pizza is great.
