Two former high school teammates, players at Texas A&M and Utah, were among three killed while making the long drive home from Utah to Texas. Another Utah player was injured, but survived.

Texas A&M“We wanted to come up with a tribute to Polo as a player, but also reflect a bit of his personality as well,” said Aggies equipment manager Matt Watson in a release. “After talking with several of his friends and family, it was evident how much Polo’s Tongan heritage meant to him. After trying to incorporate partial elements of Polo’s actual Tongan tribal arm tattoos, we came up with this design.”

Uhatafe’s father also survived the accident, according to Utah. (Update: both Uhatafes are out of the hospital now.)
