Texas A&M honoring memory of fallen player with this beautiful helmet decal

Polo Manukainiu and four others were traveling home to Texas from Utah earlier this summer when tragedy struck in New Mexico.

Tuesday night, Texas A&M announced its players will wear this in honor of defensive lineman Polo Manukainiu, who was among three killed in a July car accident.

“We wanted to come up with a tribute to Polo as a player, but also reflect a bit of his personality as well,” said Aggies equipment manager Matt Watson in a release. “After talking with several of his friends and family, it was evident how much Polo’s Tongan heritage meant to him. After trying to incorporate partial elements of Polo’s actual Tongan tribal arm tattoos, we came up with this design.”
