Former Florida head coach Ron Zook clarified that he is not a fan of his former school Monday, saying “they fired me” at the Knoxville Quarterback Club.

Zook was the guest speaker at the Knoxville Quarterback Club ahead of Tennessee’s game against Florida, whom Zook coached from 2002-04 (and served as an assistant coach from 1991-95). He was fired after posting a 23-14 record with the Gators in three years, and landed with Illinois, where he compiled a 34-51 record in seven season.
After being fired by Illinois after the 2011 season, Zook reportedly worked at a bank in Florida. He currently works as a college football analyst with CBS Sports.
