Braxton Miller injury: Ohio State star close to 100 percent, likely to play Saturday

Could Miller be the key to unlocking Wisconsin’s pass defense?

Greg Bartram-USA TODAY Sports

It looks like No. 4 Ohio State will start Braxton Miller at quarterback Saturday in its battle with No. 23 Wisconsin, as head coach Urban Meyer said the signal caller is "close to 100 percent."

Miller has missed the Buckeyes' last two games with a knee injury, but senior Kenny Guiton has done just fine in his stead, throwing 13 touchdown passes and earning consecutive co-Big Ten Player of the Week awards. Against Florida A&M, Guiton threw a program-record six touchdown passes.

Earlier in the week, Miller and Guiton were named co-starters on the latest depth chart. On Monday, Meyer said that if Miller practiced well during the week, he would start. It was previously reported that Meyer may look to use both quarterbacks at the same time.

Last season, Miller threw 15 touchdown passes and ran for 13 more. Wisconsin has yet to allow a passing touchdown this season, and is tied for 19th in the nation in passing defense.
