Playing at home, the high-flying OSU offense should have no trouble moving the ball against Colorado’s iffy secondary. The Buffaloes are playing with emotion after their home state was devastated by flooding two weeks ago, and they would like to do nothing more than bring home a win and improve to 3-0 on the season after winning just one game in 2012.
The numbers
Rankings and records: Neither team enters the weekend ranked, and regardless of who wins, neither team will enter the top 25 anytime soon. The Beavers and Buffaloes have not faced each other since Colorado joined the conference.
Vegas: Oregon State opened up as an 11-point favorite, according to Odds Shark.
Weather: It’ll be a beautiful fall afternoon for football in Corvallis with temperatures in the low-70s at kickoff.
Three names to know
Sean Mannion: The Oregon State quarterback has been as impressive as any quarterback in the nation through four weeks, throwing for 1,604 yards, 15 touchdowns and just one interception.
Brandin Cooks: Cooks is Mannion's go-to receiver on the outside, and the numbers reflect it. Cooks leads Oregon State with 43 receptions, 639 yards and seven touchdowns.
Connor Wood: Colorado's starting quarterback doesn't have the gaudy numbers like Mannion, but he's been solid in both games so far.
Two things at stake
After an embarrassing loss to start the season, Oregon State has played better in recent weeks. For a team some thought could be a darkhorse contender in the Pac-12 North, the Beavers will have to continue improving on both sides of the ball to keep pace with Oregon and Stanford. As for the Buffaloes, the program continues to rebuild from the ground up, but you have to worry about a three-week layoff taking its toll due to the flooding in Colorado. A road win would be huge for CU.

TV: 3 p.m. ET, Pac-12 Networks
Radio: Newsradio 850 KOA will carry the game across the Boulder area. 1240 KEJO-AM radio will broadcast the action in Corvallis.
Online streaming: The Pac-12 will stream the game for those with cable companies carrying Pac-12 Networks.
