Miami's star quarterback Stephen Morris set a season high of 222 yards on 11-of-16 passing against USF, which is impressive considering he'll watch the last 41 minutes of the game from the sidelines.
Miami QB Stephen Morris out after ankle injury
Morris took the hit on a deep pass in the second quarter and will not return in the Miami blowout.

UM says Stephen Morris not returning. Lower extremity injury (which is his right ankle, unless he injured another part of his extremity).

Morris was sandwiched between two defenders on a long pass attempt during the second quarter, and he came up limping on that ankle (one that has bothered him in the past) immediately afterward. He was replaced by Ryan Williams, who will stay in the game unless it’s time for the third string to file in.
This is likely a precautionary move by Miami head coach Al Golden, as Morris appears to be moving well enough on the sidelines that if he may have been available in a close game, but in a laugher like this (35-7 at the half) there’s just no good reason to stress Morris’ ankle any more than necessary—especially with Georgia Tech looming next week.
Expect to see tailback Duke Johnson join his teammate Morris on the sidelines soon; Johnson took a shot to the head and fumbled twice since the hit in the first half, and Golden probably doesn't want to see his prized running back get battered more than necessary in the blowout.
