Wake Forest vs. Clemson final score: Tigers smoke the Demon Deacons, 56-7

The Tigers made quick work of the Demon Deacons, rolling to an easy 56-7 win.

The Clemson Tigers had no problems putting away Wake Forest early, and coasted to a 56-7 victory in Death Valley.

The Tigers jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the first eight minutes of the game, effectively ending any chance of Wake Forest making things interesting. In fact, they got on the board less than a minute into the game on a long touchdown pass from Tajh Boyd to Sammy Watkins. The Demon Deacons would get on the board before the end of the first quarter, but the Tigers then reeled off five straight touchdowns to end the game.

Sammy Watkins led the Tigers with 113 yards and a touchdown, but 12 Clemson players managed to pull in at least one reception. Boyd was the team's leading rusher with 69 yards, but C.J. Davidson had two touchdowns to his credit on the ground.

Box Score Hero:

Tajh Boyd was magnificent, going 17-24 for 311 yards and three touchdowns, and rushed for 69 yards and a touchdown.

Rankings Ramifications:

Barring someone ahead of them losing, the Tigers will remain at third in the AP poll and fourth in the USA Today poll. Wake Forest will remain unranked.

But Did They Cover?

Clemson was a 28.5 point favorite, and they easily covered that spread.
