Ole Miss vs. Alabama final score: Tide roll for easy win, 25-0

The Tide defense completely shut down Ole Miss while Alabama’s running game provided a more than healthy cushion.

The No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide was not expected to have too much trouble against the visiting No. 21 Mississippi Rebels in Tuscaloosa, and the Tide's defense gave a thoroughly dominating performance in a 25-0 win.

After some high-scoring games around the SEC over the past few weeks, Alabama went back to the basics of what won the Tide two straight national titles -- a smothering defense and a strong running game.

The Tide were able to completely shut down Ole Miss stars Bo Wallace and Jeff Scott -- Wallace was held to under 200 yards passing while the dynamic Scott had a measly 28 yards rushing.

Alabama's offense was unable to consistently put points up, but it didn't need to. Cade Foster kicked three first-half field goals, including a 53-yarder, and T.J. Yeldon put the game away with a 68-yard touchdown after an incredible spin move on Cody Prewitt.

A fourth quarter safety forced by Alabama made it 18-0, and Alabama put the final nail in the coffin with a 50-yard touchdown run by Kenyan Drake.

Box Score Hero: T.J. Yeldon. The Alabama running back had 17 carries for 121 yards and a score.

Rankings Ramifications: Alabama will stay on top of both polls, while Ole Miss will probably fall out of the top 25.

But Did They Cover? Alabama was a two-touchdown favorite, so yes.
