Ole Miss is already facing an uphill battle playing the No. 1 team in the country. And that’s without having the refs taking sides against them:
Ref takes out Ole Miss player with flag to the eye
BAMA, HOW MUCH ARE YOU PAYING THE REFS TO BLIND EVERY ONE OF BAMA’S OPPONENTS
That’s junior defensive end C.J. Johnson getting nailed in the eye by a flag. Johnson would go to the sideline to be tended to by medical staff before eventually returning to the field.
This could’ve been bad: In 1999 offensive lineman Orlando Brown was nearly blinded and lost three seasons of his career after NFL ref Jeff Triplette threw a flag in his eye. Brown famously shoved Triplette after the play and eventually sued the NFL for $25 million.
Luckily, that won’t be the case here:
CJ Johnson returned to the OM lineup after being out a couple of plays due to flag being thrown in his face by an official.
