Alabama nearly lost one of its top defensive players against Ole Miss, as freshman cornerback Eddie Jackson was penalized after a hit on tight end Evan Engram late in the third quarter.
Alabama’s Eddie Jackson not ejected for this penalized hit
The controversial targeting ruling rears its head again with another reversed call.
The call was reviewed and Jackson’s ejection was overturned, leaving both fanbases unhappy. The Rebels’ faithful were confused by the lack of an ejection, while Alabama could not have been happy with the call being overturned but the penalty still standing. It all evened out for the Tide, as even though the penalty moved Ole Miss into the Alabama red zone, they turned the ball over on downs near the goal line.
Alabama leads, 16-0, heading into the fourth quarter.
