It wasn't the cleanest game, but the Washington Huskies improved to 4-0 with a 31-13 win against the Arizona Wildcats.

Heavy rain wasn’t able to derail the Huskies and Washington notched its first Pac-12 win of the season.


Heavy rain led to some sloppy conditions in the first half and the result was evident with players sliding and struggling to hold onto the ball. Washington struck first with a touchdown on its opening possession. The Huskies took an 8-0 lead after Arizona punter Drew Riggleman failed to catch the snap, leading to a safety.
Washington dominated the first half up until Arizona’s final drive of the half. The Wildcats drove 84 yards, capping the drive with a touchdown to make it a 11-6 game at halftime. The rain subsided and the offenses found more success in the second half. Both teams scored touchdowns early in the third quarter. Arizona made it a 18-13 game late in the third quarter, but Washington pulled away. A pair of rushing touchdowns gave Washington a 31-13 lead and secured its fourth victory of the season.
The loss was Arizona’s first of the season and the Wildcats are now 3-1. Washington is 3-0 at home, outscoring its opponents 125-19 in Husky Stadium.

Bishop Sankey led the way for Washington, finishing with 161 rushing yards and a touchdown. The Huskies relied on Sankey with the junior running back carrying the ball 40 times.

The Huskies entered the game No. 16 and could now break into the top 15 following the impressive victory.

The Huskies opened as a 7-point favorite and were able to cover the spread. The total opened at 67 and the those betting the under cashed in.
