TCU quarterback Casey Pachall broke his left arm in the second quarter of TCU's 38-17 win over Southeastern Louisiana Saturday, and it was reported he underwent surgery. Reports have come out Sunday that Pachall will miss at least eight weeks with the injury, via the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

That means Pachall will return, at the earliest, for TCU’s Nov. 9 conference game against Iowa State, and will miss contests against No. 14 Oklahoma and No. 12 Oklahoma State.
Trevone Boykin will take over for Pachall in the interim, and it's a familiar role for the sophomore, who started last season while Pachall was in substance abuse rehab. As a freshman, Boykin threw for 15 touchdowns and averaged seven yards per attempt. Against Southeastern Louisiana, he completed nine of 13 pass attempts for 133 yards and two touchdowns.
TCU’s offense should not suffer much -- Boykin has the advantage in completion percentage, yards, yards/attempt, touchdowns, interceptions and quarterback rating -- but the Horned Frogs will still anxiously await the return of their starter.
As a sophomore in 2011, Pachall threw for 25 touchdowns against just seven interceptions.
