Ahead of Saturday's SEC East clash between Florida and Tennessee, Gators linebacker Jarrad Davis has some words for Vols freshman running back Jalen Hurd. Through four games, Hurd is Tennessee's leading rusher with 72 carries for 328 yards. Florida has, nonetheless, won nine straight games against Tennessee.
Star Tennessee RB ‘can’t hang’ with Florida, says Gator LB
Florida’s Jarrad Davis promised to give Jalen Hurd a bigger challenge than Georgia did.

"Georgia was a big test for him. That's a physical team," Davis said, per 247 Sports. "But I feel like we have more to offer for him. We're going to come down. We're going to talk to him a little bit with the pads. We're not going to talk with our mouth. We're going to hit him and get back and get lined up. I don't think he can hang with us. He's a good athlete, but we've got a whole defense coming for him."
Tennessee dropped a heartbreaker at Georgia last weekend, building a 10-0 lead in the first quarter before allowing 21 unanswered points in a 35-32 loss. Hurd, though, was a highlight, rushing for 119 yards and a touchdown against the country’s 25th-ranked rushing defense.
Though Davis tempered the “he can’t hang with us” with some compliments for Hurd, his remarks will surely make their way into the Vols’ locker room. The Gators have been fair against the run, limiting opponents to 3.2 yards per carry and 128 rushing yards per game, 45th in the country.
