Arizona kicker misses game-winner, fails at flopping

It was a rough night for Arizona kicker Casey Skowron and not even his acting skills could salvage it.

Despite trailing by 15 points to start the fourth quarter and failing on a two-point conversion that would have tied the game, No. 10 Arizona was in prime position to knock off USC on Saturday. The Wildcats recovered an onside kick and quickly moved the ball into field goal range. It all set up Casey Skowron for a game-winning 36-yard attempt.

Skowron was just 2-of-4 heading into the kick, but drilled what amounted to a practice attempt when USC called a time out. The actual attempt? Well that didn’t go as well. Skowron didn’t catch the ball well, missing well to the right. The miss was evident right off his foot and Skowron knew it then attempted to flop to draw a penalty. That attempt was also unsuccessful:
