How to watch Oregon vs. Oregon State: Game guide, TV/streaming, odds

Can the Beavers pull a huge upset in The Civil War?

Rivalry weekend produces some of the games we have all come to love over decades, and in some cases, over a century. There’s the Iron Bowl, Ohio State-Michigan, Florida-Florida State and so many others. The Civil War is in similar company, though it’s often forgotten.

That this series is so good is amazing in itself. Oregon is a small-ish state, and it’s especially small to have two Power 5 programs. While there are good recruiting areas nearby, Oregon isn’t a good recruiting ground in itself. Yet the Oregon Ducks have turned into a college football powerhouse in recent years, while the Oregon State Beavers have miraculously still been able to put together some solid seasons.

This year, No. 2 Oregon is a heavy favorite and has already won the Pac-12 North, but you never know what can happen in the Civil War, as both sides have pulled some big upsets in recent years. Here’s what to watch this year.

How to watch, listen, and stream

Game time: 8 p.m. ET

TV: ABC

Radio: Oregon Sports Network, Oregon State Beaver Sports Network

Online streaming: ABC Live

The numbers

Rankings and records: Oregon is 10-1, ranked No. 2 nationally by the College Football Playoff selection committee. Oregon State is 5-6 and unranked.

Vegas: Oregon opened as a 17.5-point favorite. The line is now 19.5 with an over/under 67, per Odds Shark.

Weather forecast: High of 45, low of 34 and a chance of rain.

Two things at stake

Oregon needs to win this game to stay in contention for the College Football Playoff, with Arizona next week for the Pac-12 title.

Oregon State needs a win to become bowl eligible.

One big matchup

Oregon offense vs. Oregon State defense: The Oregon defense doesn’t get enough respect, and the OSU offense is going to have its hands full this weekend too, but the Ducks’ offense is going to make or break this game. The Oregon State defense has been up-and-down this year, and it struggled last week in a loss to Washington. Now it faces the much tougher task of slowing down Heisman front-runner Marcus Mariota and the Ducks. It’s going to take a bad Oregon performance for the Beavers to have any chance, but if they also put together a solid defensive effort, they might have a chance to pull the upset.
