Clemson broke a five-game skid against in-state rivals South Carolina Saturday, riding four total touchdowns from true freshman quarterback Deshaun Watson in a 35-17 victory. Watson apparently did all that with ACL damage, head coach Dabo Swinney said after the game.
Deshaun Watson beat South Carolina despite ACL injury, says Dabo Swinney
The Clemson QB suffered the injury in practice before last week’s Georgia State game, the coach said.

Dabo: Deshaun Watson played today w/ partially torn ACL. Will play in the bowl game, then have surgery, rehab, miss spring, back in summer.

The freshman previously missed three games after suffering a hand injury vs. Louisville, and suffered an LCL sprain in his left knee against Georgia Tech.
A four-star prospect out of high school, Watson won the job away from senior Cole Stoudt early this season. He totaled 19 touchdowns in eight regular season games. Against South Carolina, he completed 14 of 19 passes for 269 yards with two touchdowns, also rushing five times for 13 yards and two scores.
