Baylor QB Bryce Petty out with concussion

Baylor is without their signal caller down the stretch against Texas Tech, and potentially longer.

Baylor quarterback Bryce Petty will not return to Baylor's game with Texas Tech, as he's suffering with what's being described as a "mild concussion."

Seth Russell is in the game in place of Petty. Russell saw a decent amount of game action early in the season, mostly in mop up duty.

Petty was injured late against the Red Raiders when he took a helmet to helmet hit from linebacker Sam Eguavoen. The hit resulted in a personal foul call. His final line for the day was 18-25 for 210 yards and two touchdowns. There’s no word on his status for the Dec. 6th showdown against Kansas State.

Describing a concussion as “mild” is a bit dubious, but it’s impossible to say how he’ll react in the week coming up. If he can’t go against Kansas State, it will be a major loss for the Bears.
