Boise State unanimous No. 1 in the Underdogs Poll

Who ordered the blue shag carpet?

The Underdogs Poll is a weekly ranking of college football's top non-power FBS teams. Voters come from SB Nation sites Bull Run, Hustle Belt, Miner Rush, Mountain West Connection, Underdog Dynasty, Vanquish The Foe, and Voodoo Five.

Team chaos, thy name is rivalry week.

A week ago, Marshall slipped from the top spot despite still being undefeated. Colorado State seemed firmly in control of its destiny. Boise State, despite being the Mountain Division leader with a win over Colorado State, needed a lot of help to jump into the top spot. It got that help by way of a late Air Force field goal and a WKU offense with hero-syndrome.

The result, our first unanimous No. 1 of the season, the Boise State Broncos.

But with so much chaos elsewhere, who are the big winners this week? Memphis, obviously. Claiming at least a share of the AAC title in their season finale, the Tigers just completed their best season since the 1960s. And NIU, which has hung out near the top all season long, but had to put up new MAC kings being crowned each week. The Huskies secured their fifth straight trip to the MAC Championship game, where they will get a crack at Bowling Green.

Air Force took a decent jump in the polls after toppling the poll’s No. 1 team. Cincinnati crept up a tad bit. But the real winners? All of these teams. For the first time this season, no one dropped out from the previous poll.

There’s still room for more chaos before we hit bowl season. This week is conference championship week (sorry, AAC and Sun Belt folks; better luck on getting a conference title game next year).
