The 2014 Peach Bowl has all the makings of a classic, pitting two top 10 teams against each other in the Ole Miss Rebels and TCU Horned Frogs.
The Rebel defense has been one of the best units in the country in 2014, allowing only 4.61 yards/play, good for seventh in the country. They have a challenge ahead of them, though, as quarterback Trevone Boykin turned into one of the best players in the country this season. The Frogs have weapons all over the field in WR Josh Doctson and running backs B.J. Catalon and Aaron Green, as well.
On the other side of the ball, Ole Miss can put up points too. They’re without their best wide receiver in Laquon Treadwell, who broke his leg against Auburn, but they can still beat you all over the field. TCU’s defense has been very good at turning teams over, so they’ll try to force the Rebels into mistakes.

The numbers
Rankings and records: TCU enters the game ranked No. 6 in the country, and 11-1 (8-1 Big 12). Ole Miss is No. 9, and finished the regular season 9-3 (5-3 SEC). Ole Miss leads the all-time series 5-1, but the two programs have not met since 1983.
Vegas: TCU opened as a three-point favorite, and the line has since moved to 3.5. The over/under is 56.
Weather forecast: Indoors in the Georgia Dome, so presumably pretty nice.
Two things at stake
Ole Miss: Double digit wins. The Rebels have come close a few times, but they haven’t notched a 10+ win season since 2003. A win over TCU would get them to 10 wins, and a win over a team of the Horned Frogs’ caliber would be an outstanding way to end their best season in over a decade.
TCU: Show the committee they were wrong. The Horned Frogs were left on the outside looking in by the Playoff selection committee. Rightly or wrongly, they can give some of the committee members something to think about by going out and wiping the floor with a very good Ole Miss team.
One big matchup
Bo Wallace vs. the TCU defense. It's tough to tell which Bo Wallace is going to show up on any given play. It could be the guy that can spin an absolute dart between double coverage for a touchdown, or the guy that turns the ball over in bunches. If the bad Wallace shows up, it will be a disaster. TCU's defense was second in the nation with 36 turnovers forced this year, and Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year Paul Dawson and company will have no problem seizing opportunities if Dr. Bo is feeling charitable.
