Despite trailing for most of regulation and never holding a lead until the final play, the Oklahoma State Cowboys (6-6, 4-5 Big 12) pulled off a stunning 38-35 overtime upset of the rival Oklahoma Sooners (8-4, 5-4 Big 12) in this year's Bedlam game in Norman, Okla.

Down 14 points with five minutes to go, Oklahoma State came back to force overtime and knock off hated rival Oklahoma.

The win makes Oklahoma State bowl-eligible, a stunning development for a team that had lost its last five games and looked certain to miss the postseason. The loss could also knock the No. 20 Sooners completely out of the Playoff Committee top 25, which could damage the resumes of possible postseason participants TCU and Baylor.
Bedlam was unremarkable through 55 minutes, with Oklahoma holding a 35-21 lead. The Sooners had been on top since midway through the second quarter. The Cowboys weren't done yet, though. Oklahoma State quarterback Mason Rudolph connected with Brandon Sheperd on a 43-yard touchdown throw with five minutes left to play, cutting the Sooner lead to a touchdown. The Cowboys stifled the Sooners' running game and forced a three-and-out, but a Rudolph interception gave Oklahoma the ball back at the Oklahoma State 41 with 3:16 to play and the Cowboys out of timeouts.
Oklahoma State pushed the Sooners back 4 yards over the next three plays, forcing another punt with 45 seconds to go. The Cowboys came after the punt, but were called for running into the punter. Oklahoma kicked again to Tyreek Hill, and Hill went the distance.
Hill's 92-yard punt return for a touchdown tied the game at 35. After a solid kickoff return by Alex Ross to the Oklahoma 37, the Sooners tried two passes and opted for overtime. Oklahoma, whose offense had not generated a first down in its last four possessions during regulation, did nothing with its first series in overtime -- kicker Michael Hunnicutt hooked the 44-yard field goal attempt left. The Cowboys ran right at the Sooners, advancing to the 4-yard line, and kicker Ben Grogan made the game-winning field goal.
Rudolph, a freshman playing in just his second collegiate game, went 19-of-35 for 273 yards and two touchdowns. Desmond Roland finished with 68 yards on the ground, including all 21 of OSU's yards in overtime. Roland also had two rushing touchdowns.
Oklahoma quarterback Cody Thomas was just 10-of-17 on the day for 120 yards and a score. Halfback Samaje Perine ran for 151 yards and two touchdowns, but almost all of his production was in the first half. Keith Ford added 91 yards on nine carries for the Sooners.
