Scores of fans — some even from Australia — show up at SEC Media Days every year, because that’s how football goes in the South. While the Big Ten will have fan opportunities on Tuesday, Monday at Big Ten Media Days is much tamer than the SEC even in Birmingham. Only two fans even showed up early.
Two fans are early at Big Ten Media Days. One is an Auburn fan.
South Georgia resident Rusty Hall was in Chicago on business and decided to take in Big Ten Media Days. SEC fans are everywhere.

One of the fans who made the trip out is Gerald Blanc, a Michigan fan from Chicago. The other? An Auburn fan named Rusty Hall, who came to see what Big Ten football is all about.
That’s right, not only does the Big Ten have two fans at the first day of its media days, but one of them is an SEC fan. Why did Hall come out to see the coaches of teams he has no connection to?
“I’m an avid college football fan,” he said, “and I knew this was going on.”

Even in the offseason, the SEC beats the Big Ten.
