UCLA QB Brett Hundley leaves game with apparent left elbow injury

UCLA fans have their hearts in their throats waiting to hear about their star quarterback’s injury.

UCLA star quarterback Brett Hundley left the Bruins' game against Texas with an injury to his non-throwing elbow. Hundley hurt his left elbow scrambling in the first quarter, and head coach Jim Mora had to encourage Hundley to go down to get an injury timeout.

The exact nature of the injury is unknown at this point, but Jerry Neuheisel will take over the quarterbacking duties in his absence. It appears that he should be able to return tonight:

UPDATE: Hundley is heading back to the locker room.

Hundley came into the 2014 season with some serious Heisman hype, but the Bruins have stuttered early. If he has to miss an extended run of games, the Bruins could be in real trouble. It doesn’t appear to be serious, but it’s something to keep an eye on.
