Taylor Kelly injury: Arizona State quarterback suffers a right foot injury

The ASU signal-caller left the game during the third quarter and was in a walking boot and on crutches after the game.

Arizona State quarterback Taylor Kelly left the Sun Devil's game on Saturday with a right foot injury and was on crutches and wearing a walking boot after the game. Kelly appeared to suffer the injury on a quarterback run late in the third quarter, according to SB Nation's ASU blog House of Sparky.

The injury was of the non-contact variety and comes a week before ASU hosts a pivotal Pac-12 showdown with UCLA. Kelly, one of the Pac-12’s best quarterbacks, racked up 195 passing yards, 70 rushing yards and four total touchdowns before leaving the game. The senior played one of his best games of the year last year in a win against UCLA. His status for next week’s game and beyond is currently unknown.

Junior Mike Bercovici replaced Kelly and played the entire fourth quarter in ASU’s 38-24 win against Colorado. He wasn’t asked to do much, with ASU holding a sizable lead, and completed 2-of-4 pass attempts for eight yards. He’s attempted 24 passes during his career, mostly playing in mop up duty.
