The ongoing saga involving Jameis Winston and his alleged December 2012 sexual assault shows no signs of a clean resolution any time soon. TMZ Sports reported Wednesday morning that Winston's lawyer, David Cornwell, sent a letter to Florida State with a claim that the alleged victim asked for $7 million in exchange for her silence.
Jameis Winston’s lawyer claims alleged victim asked for $7 million
Winston’s lawyer told Florida State officials of the claim in a letter obtained by TMZ Sports.

Here’s more:
According to the letter -- obtained by TMZ -- the alleged victim’s lawyer, Patricia Carroll, demanded $7 MIL to settle her client’s claims against FSU and Winston, telling Cornwell, “If we settle, you will never hear from my client or me again -- in the press or anywhere.”
Cornwell says he rejected her offer and 4 days later she went to the media.
Tomahawk Nation notes the claim by Winston’s lawyer that the alleged victim said she would have never chosen to be with a “black boy.”
Winston was never charged with any crime. The school and the federal government have both opened investigations into the incident.
Since state attorney Willie Meggs announced Winston wouldn't be charged, the quarterback has gotten into trouble a couple times. He was cited for shoplifting in the summer, and he was suspended for the Clemson game last week, a result of a vulgar outburst and his lack of honesty thereafter, according to the school. Florida State faces NC State Saturday afternoon, and Winston is expected to retake his starting spot at quarterback.
