Wednesday’s Jameis Winston news: the Florida State quarterback’s attorney and the attorney representing his alleged sexual assault victim have been yelling at each other. Winston’s side is yelling that the other side offered to pay $7 million for the whole thing to go away. The other side is yelling that Winston’s lawyer is a disagreeable person, and so forth.
Jameis Winston’s lawyer is out here subtweeting opposing attorneys
While complaining about being called “unprofessional.”

Tomahawk Nation has catalogued all the yelling, if you like to read such things.
At one point, the accuser’s representation referred to David Cornwell, Winston’s lawyer, as “unprofessional.” So Cornwell chose to rebut that personal charge by issuing subtweets, long considered the most professional form of communication:
Tries to extort a 20yr old college student for $7million .... and I'm unprofessional. #priceless
— David Cornwell (@wmdavidcornwell) September 24, 2014 There was also an incredible hashtag:
Hmmmm...why no denial of $7million demand? #sirwalterscottandtangledwebs
— David Cornwell (@wmdavidcornwell) September 24, 2014 The quote in reference is: “Oh, what a tangled web we weave: When first we practise to deceive.”
