How to watch Louisiana Tech vs. Auburn: Game guide, TV/streaming, odds

The Tigers have a final tune-up before a tough stretch of conference games.

After a harrowing escape against Kansas State, and with a matchup against LSU on the horizon, Auburn gets a breather. The Tigers host Louisiana Tech Saturday afternoon at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Auburn should be sure to enjoy this game. Barring a stunning surprise, Louisiana Tech won't offer much of a challenge, and third-string quarterback Jonathan Wallace should see a fair bit of action before the final whistle. Once it's over, the Tigers face a slate of seven out of eight games against opponents currently ranked in the top 17 of SB Nation's composite rankings. That's brutal.

The Tigers' offense looked great through two games, but the win in Manhattan proved there are things to correct: quarterback Nick Marshall's accuracy, drops from wide receivers and better run blocking against stout defense, to name a few. Now's the time to work out the kinks.

How to watch, listen, and stream

Game time: 4 p.m. ET

TV: SEC Network

Radio: Auburn; Louisiana Tech

Online streaming: WatchESPN

The numbers

Rankings and records: Auburn enters the game a perfect 3-0, ranked No. 5 in the AP Top 25 and USA Today Coaches Poll. Louisiana Tech is less than perfect at 2-2 and is unranked. The Tigers hold a 13-0-1 lead in the all-time series.

Vegas: Auburn opened as a 33-point favorite, and that line hasn’t moved much at most sportsbooks. The over/under is set at 61.

Weather forecast: 80 degrees and overcast.

Two things at stake

The Tigers just need to stay healthy and get some good reps in ahead of their backloaded conference slate, which includes LSU, Mississippi State, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Georgia and Alabama.

La. Tech must remember to grab the paycheck before heading out of town.

One big matchup

Nick Marshall vs. inaccuracy

After struggling to move the ball against Kansas State, Auburn shouldn’t have any problems against a defense that’s completely overmatched. But the Tigers quarterback has an opportunity to work on his throws against live competition.

There was a lot of talk in the offseason about Marshall being an improved passer, but so far he hasn’t really shown it, completing just 55.4 percent of his throws through 2.5 games. He came through when it counted late against the Wildcats, but improvement is needed if Auburn is going to get out of the SEC West alive.
