Saturday college football TV/streaming schedule for Sept. 27

The pessimist sees the zero head-to-head matchups between ranked teams as the shallowest pool of Saturday action to this point in the 2014 season. The optimist sees the potential for underdogs to come out of nowhere and upset a few ranked teams.

Missouri vs. No. 13 South Carolina and Arkansas vs. No. 6 Texas A&M are the headliners, such as they are. Despite Mizzou’s disappointing home loss to Indiana, you never know if the Beat Georgia Gamecocks or the Got A Scare From Vandy Gamecocks are going to show up. The Tigers could very well head back to Columbia, Mo. from Columbia, S.C. occupying the driver’s seat in the SEC East. Meanwhile, the Razorbacks and Aggies have both looked much better than anyone expected but neither has played a difficult opponent since Week 1. That changes on Saturday.

Beyond those two games, we find ourselves holding out hope that a couple of games with multiple touchdown spreads get weird. The good news is that there are quite a few games that seem like they have that kind of potential. Tennessee-Georgia went to overtime last year when the Vols were a much worse football team than they are now. Florida State has a recent history of stubbing its toe against N.C. State. And don't sleep on Cincinnati-Ohio State. The Bearcats' offense is looking plenty explosive with Gunner Kiel at the helm, and the two schools appear to be taking the battle for bragging rights in the state of Ohio rather seriously.
