How to watch the 2015 Cactus Bowl: Oklahoma State vs. Washington game time, TV schedule, live online streaming

Can OSU get another stunning win behind its true freshman quarterback?

SB Nation 2014 College Football Guide

New Year’s Day is the day everyone in college football looks forward to, but this year, January 2 provides a lot of intrigue, as well. Three of the games match up teams in two power conference, and all four of them have at least one power conference team. In the nightcap, we get a matchup of two thoroughly mediocre power conference teams.

Heading into the last week of the season, few Oklahoma State fans could have foreseen their Cowboys headed to a bowl game. However, 5-6 OSU shocked Oklahoma in Norman to become bowl eligible, and now Mike Gundy’s inconsistent team gets rewarded with a tough test from Washington.

The Huskies haven’t been incredibly impressive in Chris Petersen’s first year in Seattle, but they haven’t been bad. Among the high points was a blowout win over Cal, but there were also close calls against FBS bottom feeder Hawaii and FCS Eastern Washington.

Both of these teams can be hard to predict, so while this might not be the most high quality of matchups, it’s also not all that predictable.

How to watch, listen, and stream

Game time: 10:15 p.m. ET

TV: ESPN

Radio: Oklahoma State | Washington

Online streaming: WatchESPN

The numbers

Rankings and records: Washington is 8-5 and unranked. Oklahoma State is 6-6 and unranked.

Vegas: Washington opened as a 5-point favorite. The line is now 5.5. The over/under is 56.5.

Weather forecast: High of 52 with 7 MPH winds and a 10-percent chance of rain.

Two things at stake

A win in this game would provide a nice springboard for the second year of the Chris Petersen era at Washington.

After a rocky year at Oklahoma State, a win in the Cactus Bowl could help provide some proof that things are still headed in the right direction in Stillwater.

One big matchup

Mason Rudolph vs. the Washington defense. Freshman quarterback Mason Rudolph’s emergence is a big reason why Oklahoma State won the Bedlam game, and he appears to be the Cowboys’ quarterback for the considerable future. He’ll face a tough test against the Washington defense, but he certainly has the talent to be successful. If he can have a good game, then OSU has a chance to win. If not, the the Huskies will likely cruise to victory.
