Let us appreciate the wonderful, weird, starchy goodness that is the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl

There was so much to enjoy this year, like every year.

There are some wrong-headed people who like to talk about things like there being “too many bowls.” To those people, I submit the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.

It has the best mascot of any bowl, Spuddy Buddy:

And they’re working hard to improve on the standard bowl sponsor ad -- check out this year’s ad:



Major upgrade over last year's commercial, which looked like it was directed by David Cronenberg.

And of course potatoes, like football, are woven into the fabric of the holiday season.

And the result was the first bowl win in the history of the Akron football program, which is a pretty nice accomplishment.
