Bobby Bowden has takes. The former Florida State head coach stirred the pot with some harsh words for ex-Seminoles quarterback Jameis Winston.

— Paul Finebaum (@finebaum) May 12, 2015 Of course, there was more to the quote than what Paul Finebaum shared on Twitter. During his appearance on Finebaum’s show, Bowden did say that Winston was “an embarrassment” to FSU, but the coach acknowledged Winston could change for the better: “The good news is, he’s young enough to get over that,” Bowden added. “You just can’t make those junior high school decisions that he made when he was in college.”
The sentiment was similar to when Bowden said Winston was doing “things kids in grammar school would do.”
The ‘Noles’ next QB? Notre Dame transfer Everett Golson visited Florida State on Monday, along with a visit to Florida on the same day. Golson reportedly has plans to visit Georgia, Alabama, UCLA and South Carolina. He hasn’t announced intentions to visit the team that might need him most: Ole Miss.
FSU head coach Jimbo Fisher said the Seminoles are “negotiating” with Golson, and that the quarterback would not be guaranteed a starting spot.
Tim Beckman is in hot water. Former Illinois offensive lineman Simon Cvijanovic made some serious accusations against the Illini head coach on Sunday, alleging abuse, improper medical care and unfair treatment of players. On Tuesday, another former Illini player spoke out, calling Beckman “the worst coach I ever met.” Beckman responded with a statement of his own.
