If you stayed up until 5 a.m. Eastern time last night to watch Hawai’i’s win over Colorado, you were witness to a very strange finish. You were also witness to starting right tackle R.J. Hollis leaping to snag an errant throw on the sidelines and busting out some wonderful dance moves. As CBS Sports announcer Aaron Taylor points out, Hollis has Piesman potential written all over him.
Hawai’i offensive lineman R.J. Hollis is on the Piesman Trophy Watch List after this sideline leaping grab/dance
And thanks to Aaron Taylor for giving the Piesman Trophy love on air!

For the record: this was not an actual in-game catch, so it’s not actually eligible for a Piesman Trophy nomination. But seeing Hollis’ leaping ability and hands make it clear he’s a target to make a reception, and his dance moves show the athleticism and creativity that could make him a threat in the open field. That makes him a definite addition to the Piesman Trophy watch list.
If you’re unfamiliar with the Piesman Trophy, it’s an award SB Nation will present at the end of the season for the best non-lineman play made by a college lineman. We’re on the lookout for the best pass/run/catch/touchdown by a lineman, but we need your help! So if you see a Piesman Moment anywhere from Division I to Division III, please share it with the Piesman Trophy on Twitter.
