— Dave Matter (@Dave_Matter) January 26, 2016 It’s unclear when the video is from, or even what the person in it appears to be snorting.
According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, one teammate says the video is two years old:
The video released Monday showing Missouri’s Maty Mauk appearing to snort a line of white powder was taken two years ago and the quarterback has since addressed his drug problem, a Mizzou teammate told the Post-Dispatch. The player asked to not be identified.
The teammate said Mauk has “been really turning things around” since the end of the season and “has been clean for a while.”
Mauk was suspended for the remainder of the 2015 season after just four games for "disciplinary reasons," reportedly after a late night verbal confrontation outside of a Columbia bar. That suspension followed a separate four-week one handed to Mauk by former coach Gary Pinkel.
Mauk started for back-to-back SEC East-winning Tiger teams in 2013 and 2014 before his suspension-shortened 2015 season. In 28 career games, he has completed 52.7 percent of his passes for 6.7 yards per attempt, with 42 touchdowns against 19 interceptions.
