Ole Miss’ Chad Kelly runs onto high school field after late hit on his brother sparks brawl

Kelly was in Buffalo to watch his brother’s game.

Ole Miss quarterback Chad Kelly had to be restrained during a high school football brawl that broke out during a Friday night game in Buffalo between Timon and St. Joseph’s High School. It doesn’t appear Kelly threw any punches or otherwise attacked anyone.

Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze released a statement late Friday evening regarding Kelly’s involvement in the incident.

According to Martin, the brawl started “on top of” Kelly’s younger brother, Casey, and Chad attempted to step onto the field.

Following the incident, which occurred in the second quarter, Buffalo Police decided to suspend the contest. Police also added that no arrests have been made at this time, and there were no apparent injuries.

Per 247Sports, Casey Kelly is a class of 2019 quarterback with no collegiate offers at this time. Ole Miss has a bye this week, which explains Chad’s attendance at his brother’s game.

Chad Kelly was on Clemson’s roster for two seasons, but in 2014 he was dismissed from the team for “detrimental conduct.” It was later reported that Kelly’s involvement in an alleged fender bender incident after Clemson’s spring game contributed to his dismissal.

In Dec. 2014, Kelly was arrested in Buffalo, N.Y., after he allegedly fought with two bouncers and said, “I’m going to go to my car and get my AK-47 and spray this place,” according to a report. In Jan. 2015 he received a plea deal following the incident, and completed 50 hours of court-ordered community service.
