The center-QB exchange, even in the shotgun, is supposed to be the simplest thing in a complex game. Mix in some rain, and things get hectic. It’s pretty wet in Raleigh on Saturday thanks to the remnants of Hurricane Matthew, so much so that center Sam Mustipher is having serious trouble getting the ball snapped.
It’s raining so hard, Notre Dame’s center just snapped the ball nowhere

As a center, frankly, this is your worst nightmare. The snap’s not even behind the quarterback, giving someone in the backfield a chance to clean up the mess. It goes much further to the left than backwards.
The guys in the backfield were as confused as you would think they would be.
Not to be outdone, NC State fumbled on the very next play and Notre Dame got the ball back, then the Irish threw an interception a few plays after that.
Everything is fine in Raleigh today.
