Jim Harbaugh’s team broke this Ruth’s Chris Steak House discount, so he stopped by to take advantage

This is maximum cow.

Michigan gave Rutgers the blowout of the millennium on Saturday night. The final score was 78-0, the biggest margin of victory in a game between two top-division teams since the turn of the century.

The Ruth’s Chris Steak House in UM’s city announced a promotion on Friday under which it takes Michigan’s margin of victory and lowers patrons’ bills by the corresponding percentage. Coach Jim Harbaugh took note and went to enjoy himself a steak. He did this with a glass of milk, because Harbaugh.

Initially, the deal seemed clear. A 20-point Wolverines win meant 20 percent off. Sounds lovely.

But Ruth’s Chris was certainly not banking on Michigan waltzing into Piscataway and winning by 78 points, which, in theory, would mean the restaurant would be giving up 78 percent’s worth of free meat this week.

But it’s not that simple.

Reached by SB Nation on Sunday evening, a Ruth’s Chris Ann Arbor employee said the restaurant capped the discount at 50 percent. That’s still a massive cut, and it probably won’t be that big again all season. But Rutgers’ badness is 28 percent less costly to the establishment than it otherwise could’ve been.

I hope the waiter made sure to not give him any candy-ass skim milk.
