LSU vs. Arkansas 2016: Start time, live stream, TV schedule, and 3 things to know

The Boot is on the line in Fayetteville.

Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports

LSU put up the best fight anyone has against Alabama last weekend, but it still fell short in a 10-0 loss at home. Now, the No. 24 Tigers will have to regroup quickly and head north to take on No. 25 Arkansas.

Interim head coach Ed Orgeron would have almost certainly gotten the full-time job with a win over Alabama, but he can still make a great case for himself by rebounding with a strong finish, and that starts against the mercurial Razorbacks. Leonard Fournette has a highly favorable matchup against the Arkansas front seven, and a path to victory may not be more than just keeping things simple and feeding one of the best backs in the country.

Arkansas has been up and down all year, and they’re currently up after thumping Florida, 31-10, last week. Their last game before that was a 56-3 loss to Auburn, though, which gives you a better idea of the kind of range the Razorbacks have. The Florida win came after a bye week, however, and they are going into this game with their standard amount of prep.

Three big things to know

1. Fournette only ran for 35 yards against Alabama, but he cruised to an amazing 284 yards on only 16 carries against Ole Miss in the previous game. Chances are his numbers will be somewhere between those two extremes. Whichever one he’s closer to will say a lot about how LSU does in this game.

2. If Fournette does get bogged down by Arkansas' front seven, it'll be on Danny Etling to move the ball. This is not a good situation for LSU's offense. Etling's numbers are pedestrian by any measure, whether it's the seven touchdowns to four interceptions, or that he's only thrown for just over 1,200 yards in eight games.

3. And don’t forget, the winner comes home with The Boot!
