The Deep South’s oldest rivalry renews once again on Saturday in Athens, as No. 9 Auburn visits Georgia. The Tigers are favorites on the road, and need a win here to keep hope alive for the SEC West, the SEC as a whole, and maybe even the Playoff.
Auburn vs. Georgia 2016: Start time, live stream, TV schedule, and 3 things to know
Can the Dawgs throw a wrench in the Tigers’ chances at the SEC West?

Gus Malzahn's seat was roaring hot at the beginning of the year, but he appears to have pulled a great escape and guided the Tigers to an outstanding season. The one-two punch of Kamryn Pettway and Kerryon Johnson has accounted for over 1,700 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns, and the defense has been one of the very best in the country.
Georgia, meanwhile, is mired in a 5-4 start to Kirby Smart's first season as head coach at his alma mater. Freshman blue-chip quarterback Jacob Eason has shown flashes, and they managed a win over rival Florida, so it hasn't been a total loss. But for a team that many fancied as the best team in the SEC East, this is not a satisfying start to the Smart era.

Three big things to know
1. Auburn survived a tight game against Vanderbilt but got bit by the injury bug pretty hard. The good news for the Tigers is that quarterback Sean White should be good to go, and running back Kamryn Pettway might play this week as well.
2. The Bulldogs have been wildly inconsistent all year, but are coming off a tight win over Kentucky that snapped a two-game losing streak. Kirby Smart could desperately use a big win to keep the fans from grumbling too loudly, and this game would absolutely fit the bill for that.
3. This has not been the year we all expected from Georgia star Nick Chubb. He’s only topped 100 rushing yards twice this year, and he’s going against a very good Auburn defense this week. A big game here would be a nice consolation on a season to forget.
