No. 11 Oklahoma and Baylor got into some sort of shoving-and-jawing match before their game on Saturday.
As Paul Finebaum called for Baylor to end its season, the Bears and OU had a pregame scuffle
“Baylor’s in another fight,” ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit said, feigning surprise, when a clip of the shoving aired on College GameDay.
Co-host Lee Corso said, “They oughta drop football. Finebaum was right,” though it was hard to tell whether he meant this seriously.
Moments earlier on ESPN’s SEC Nation, Paul Finebaum called for the program to take the rest of the year off, which women’s activist Brenda Tracy has also called for.
Lots of football teams get into pregame shouting matches. In and of itself, this specific moment of on-field tension doesn’t mean much. It didn’t look good, though. For about a billion reasons, Baylor coaches have to be sure their players know the margin for error is nonexistent.
Last week, some Baylor fans wore black and bought shirts in support of Art Briles, who was fired amid BU’s sexual assault scandal.
