It may not technically be the Pac-12 South title game, but the outcome of Utah’s trip to Colorado will decide who wins the division. The Buffs control their own destiny and can seal the South title with a win, and USC will get the division crown if Utah wins.
Utah vs. Colorado 2016: Start time, live stream, TV schedule, and 3 things to know
The Buffs are standing on the verge of a Pac-12 South title.

The Utes lost their shot at the division last week when they lost a squeaker at home to Oregon, a result they will surely regret for a long time. Even though their title chances are gone, Utah can secure their third straight nine-win season if they beat Colorado, which would be a wonderful accomplishment for Kyle Whittingham and his staff after back-to-back 5-7 seasons in 2012 and 2013.
Colorado stands on the precipice of accomplishments they haven’t seen in at least 15 years. They’ve managed to turn themselves from the worst team in the Pac-12 to maybe the best in only two years, and are closing in on their first conference title since 2001.

Three big things to know
1. Utah’s Pac-12 title chances are gone, but they can still play spoiler and keep Colorado out of the Pac-12 title game with a win. The Buffs haven’t been in a position like this in a very long time, so we don’t really know how they’ll react to a pressure-filled stage like this. They did respond nicely against Washington State last week, but the stakes are even higher now.
2. This game will be a showcase for a pair of underrated running backs in Phillip Lindsay and Joe Williams. Both of them have rushed for over 1,000 yards on the year, and are the primary weapons for their respective offenses. Neither team is likely to light it up through the air, so whichever back has the better game will probably end up on the winning team.
3. Let’s just take a moment to appreciate what we’ve seen over the past few weeks. The most impactful games on the Pac-12 schedule in late November involve the Washington schools, Colorado, and Utah. We haven’t seen a season develop like this out west in a very long time, and it’s been a breath of fresh air.
