The Texas Longhorns hit the road a week after knocking off Baylor, and they'll have to tangle with Texas Tech up in Lubbock in order to stretch that winning streak to two games. It's not the hardest game on Texas' schedule, but this is definitely a game that can spiral out of control if they're not careful.
Texas vs. Texas Tech 2016: Start time, live stream, TV schedule, and 3 things to know
Are the Longhorns in for a letdown when they travel north to play Texas Tech?

After a promising start, things hit the skids badly for Texas. Their breakthrough win to start the season against Notre Dame turned out to be not such a breakthrough after all, and they lost four out of five games from September into October. They did snap out of it against Baylor last week, though, so we’ll see if this is a letdown spot for the Longhorns.
Texas Tech continues to be exactly the team we envision them to be. They have an incredible passing attack that can score on almost anyone, but they also continue to have a defense that exists mostly on a theoretical level. They’re averaging over 47 points per game this year, but they’re also allowing over 41 so their games tend to stay in play longer than they should. Texas should be able to run the ball and try to play keep-away, but we’ll see how effective they are.

Three big things to know
1. Texas’ offense has been all over the place the past few weeks, but they’ll need to be sharp if they want to keep up with Texas Tech’s explosive passing attack. Granted, they’ll have the opportunity to play against the Texas Tech defense, which usually helps get offenses going in the right direction.
2. In particular, freshman quarterback Shane Buechele will need to be sharp. He's been excellent for a freshman, but he's going against one of the most prolific quarterbacks in the country in Patrick Mahomes. The junior has already thrown for over 3,500 yards and 28 touchdowns in only eight games, yet that's only gotten the Red Raiders to 4-4.
3. Charlie Strong appeared to be on his last legs before beating Baylor last week, so he can’t afford to squander any goodwill he garnered by turning around and losing to Texas Tech. It may not make a lot of difference in the long run, but Strong needs to string some wins together late in the season if he wants to stick around in Austin next year.
