The FCS Playoff is getting serious this weekend, with the field narrowed down to eight teams. The games kicked off on Friday night, when Sam Houston State got throttled by James Madison.
FCS playoff schedule 2016: Start times, TV schedule, and live stream for quarterfinals
Five-time defending champions North Dakota State can avenge their only loss of 2016.

The headliner of the round, of course, is the battle between five-time defending FCS champion North Dakota State and South Dakota State. The Jackrabbits are the only team to hand the Bison a loss this year, going down 19-17 in the FargoDome on Oct. 15. NDSU will play as hosts once more, and you would expect them to be adequately motivated to avenge their only blemish of 2016. The Bison blasted San Diego 45-7 last weekend, and South Dakota State survived a low-scoring struggle with Villanova, 10-7.
On the other side of the bracket, Youngstown State gets to host Wofford after knocking off No. 3 seed Jacksonville State. The Terriers also beat a seeded team last weekend, taking care of No. 6 The Citadel 17-3. In the late game, Richmond must travel all the way across country to face Eastern Washington on their bright red field. The Spiders rallied from a 17-point deficit to beat North Dakota 27-24 to advance, and Eastern Washington took care of business against Central Arkansas, 31-14.
