On Saturday, Army and Navy will meet for the 119th time in their storied rivalry. Navy has enjoyed an unprecedented run of success against their rivals, but it would seem that the Midshipmen’s 14-game winning streak over the Black Knights is in peril this year.

Can Army break the streak?

The game will be played at 3 p.m. ET, aired on CBS, and available to stream at CBSSports.com.
Navy put together an excellent regular season, winning the AAC West and scoring wins over Houston and Notre Dame. But the Mids ran into a buzzsaw in the AAC title game, losing 34-10 to Temple, and lost starting quarterback Will Worth for the rest of the season to make matters even worse. Worth set the school record for total offense this year, just one year after Keenan Reynolds left and people worried about how Navy’s offense would move without its long-time triggerman. Sophomore Zach Abey is the man at quarterback now for the Mids, and he’ll have to hit the ground running in order to give Navy’s vulnerable defense time to rest, and a cushion to operate with.
Army has already made it to six wins this year, becoming bowl eligible for the first time since 2010, and the second time since 1996. They’ve improved their overall S&P+ ranking from 123rd last year, all the way up to 82nd this year. Their defense is ranked 41st in S&P+, and they allow only 19.1 points per game, 14th best in the country. The offense, meanwhile, could use some work. They can run the ball just fine, but even by option offense standards, their passing game is poor. Quarterback Ahmad Bradshaw completed only 42.9% of his passes, and threw for only four touchdowns compared to eight picks.
